Setting Expectations - SNH Charity Event
‘Setting Expectations’ - Workshop Overview
Our expectations play a major role in influencing the way we think and feel; which in turn influences our decisions and behaviour. Being able to set realistic expectations and communicate these clearly is an important part of every manager’s or leader’s role. Beyond this you must be able to continually review and reinforce these expectations in a constructive and consistent manner.
When this is done effectively:
Performance Management is easier
People are more focused and priorities are clearer
Teams are emotionally stronger
Relationships become healthier (internally and externally)
Results are better
However, to get to this point we need to answer some vital questions:
What are the most important expectations you need to set?
How can you ensure that the expectations you set encourage the right behaviour to deliver the results you want?
How do I communicate my expectations so that they are fully understood and well-received?
What factors should I consider when planning to implement a new set of expectations?
What methods can I use to regularly reinforce my expectations and how can I build these into my management routine?
By the end of this engaging event you will have developed a plan which answers all these questions and feel confident about the next steps you need to take to get everyone on the “same page”.
